At Helen’s Disability and Daycare Service, we offer specialised Allied Health Assistant (AHA) support for children and individuals working on their speech and communication skills. Under the guidance and supervision of qualified Speech Pathologists, our goal is to support clients in achieving their communication goals through structured, engaging, and consistent therapy activities.
We understand how important communication is for building confidence, relationships, and independence. Our Allied Health Assistants:
Do not diagnose or create therapy plans
Work under the direction of a Speech Pathologist
Deliver therapy tasks designed by qualified professionals
This model ensures high-quality, consistent care while promoting progress between speech therapy appointments.
We help clients practice and reinforce skills such as:
Speech sound production (articulation)
Language comprehension and useExpressive and receptive language activities
Social communication skills
Functional everyday communication
All sessions are personalised to match the therapy goals outlined by the supervising clinician.
Qualified Support Staff – Our team holds relevant Allied Health Assistance qualifications with a focus on speech support
Therapist-Guided Programs – All sessions follow therapy plans set by a Speech Pathologist
Flexible Delivery – Sessions can be delivered at home, in the community, or online
Child and Family Friendly – We build rapport with clients to support a fun, safe and encouraging environment
We are not Speech Pathologists. As Allied Health Assistants, we do not:
Conduct assessments
Create or adjust therapy plans
Provide independent speech therapy
Instead, we implement therapy tasks under professional guidance to ensure each participant gets consistent, high-quality support throughout their journey.
